See the Light

© 2013 Justin Zelhart/Jiggy Music ASCAP

I think
That innocence is lost
When we cram down all these pills
And we lose out on free will.

And I think
That the greatest cost
Is forgetting how to think
And never learning to forgive

We are just clones
Afraid of living alone
With these lives that are so much more
Than who we’re with or who has more

Open your eyes
And realize
Break away
See the light of the new day

Open your eyes
And realize
Break away
See the light of the new day

I think
That the only crime
Time after time
Is never giving all of our love

And I believe
That all of this is true
And if you only knew
Then we wouldn’t be here

Acting like clones
Afraid of living alone
With these lives that are so much more
Than who we’re with or who has more

Open your eyes
And realize
Break away
See the light of the new day

Open your eyes
And realize
Break away
See the light of the new day

Will you take a chance?
Plant your feet down and take a stance?
See through lies and see what’s true.
Will you...

Open your eyes
And realize
Break away
See the light of the new day

Open your eyes
And realize
Break away
See the light of the new day

Open your eyes
Never compromise
Break away
See the light of the new day.

April Sky

© 2013 Justin Zelhart/Jiggy Music ASCAP

It’s an April sky
With showers of fire
They rain down on you
They rain down on me

There are clouds of hate
With lights of desire
They call out to you
They call out to me, to me

We,
We won’t let them take control
We,
We won’t let them take control

You look to me
You’re seeking answers
They all evade me
As we become dancers

In a show of deception
Covering up our tracks
Living in paranoia
Watching each other’s backs

We gotta fight
We gotta keep on trying
Please strength don’t fade now
And keep our spirits flying

Help us get through this
And help start a change
Get rid of the fear
And don’t let it rearrange

We,
We won’t let them take control
We,
We won’t let them take control

Why can’t society change its ways?
Seems like how we’re treated
We feel like slaves.

We just can’t get in
And we just can’t get out
Will they ever know what we’re all about?

We,
We won’t let them take control
We,
We won’t let them take control

It’s an April sky
With showers of fire
They call out to you
They call out to me, to me

Ramble

© 2013 Justin Zelhart/Jiggy Music ASCAP

I’m so sorry, pardon me
For trying to be
What I’m supposed to be
And excuse me for wearing my heart on my sleeve
I guess I’ll start from scratch
And not be so naïve
And stupid, and jaded,
Like I’ve been so many times before
I just gotta look after myself
And my life I need to restore

I used to be able to ramble
On, and on, and on
Now everything I used to say
Is conveniently now gone, and gone, and gone

Excuse me
For following my heart
What I think
What I feel
What I am
Where I start
And my apologies for being something
Too hard to perceive
Let me fade into the mist
And don’t miss me when I leave.
When I leave

I used to be able to ramble
On, and on, and on
Now everything I used to say
Is conveniently now gone, and gone, and gone

I didn’t see your face
When I went away
Not like I wanted to
Knowing what you’d say
I left it all, with a tear in my eye
‘Cause it’s better this way
Like it’s better to die
Better to die...
Much better

I used to be able to ramble
On, and on, and on
Now everything I used to say
Is conveniently now gone, and gone, and gone

I’m so sorry, pardon me

Broken Wing

© 2013 Justin Zelhart/Jiggy Music ASCAP

Like a dull serrated knife
You cut back into my life
And begin to carve at your own leisure

You pretend like I’m not there
And like you’d ever care
Just giving yourself some pleasure

Do you see the tears that I cry?
At night, when I lie
In bed with your ghost at my side

And tell me, do you feel my pain?
While it drives me insane?
Making my thoughts and feelings divide
No?
I didn’t think so
I didn’t think so

Why do you make me take this test?
To show you my endurance?
To see how long until I break?
To show you my perseverance?

Why do you make me take this test?
To show you my endurance?
To see how long until I break?
To show you my perseverance?

How do you expect me
To thrive in agony?
Do you really think it’s that easy?

And tell me, what did I do
To be lost here without a clue?
Losing all of our clarity

I only see you when I close my eyes
And you’re just pain in disguise

How can you fly with a broken wing?
How can you fly with a broken wing?
Tell me, how can you fly with a broken wing?
How can you fly? How can you fly? How can you??

Why do you make me take this test?
To show you my endurance?
To see how long until I break?
To show you my perseverance?

Why do you make me take this test?
To show you my endurance?
To see how long until I break?
To show you my perseverance?

Why do you make me take this test?
To show you my endurance?
To see how long until I break?
To show you my perseverance?

Why do you make me take this test?
To show you my endurance?
To see how long until I break?
To show you my perseverance?

Why do you make me take this test?
Why do you make me take this test?
Why do you make me take this test?
Why do you make me take this test?

Why do you?
Why do you?
Why do you do this to me?

Why do you?
Why do you?
Why do you do this to me?

Why do you?
Why do you?

Why do you?
Why do you?

Ten Foot Duck

© 2013 Justin Zelhart/Jiggy Music ASCAP

My dog went down to Tennessee
I missed him like a woman
Then my girl, she left me in my truck
Well I have my money, nope!
I’m outta luck
All I got, is a ten foot duck

My ten foot duck my baby gave to me
On the day of our second anniversary
It’s a duck made out of plastic
It’s a duck made out of wood
Oh I’d give it away, if I could
My ten foot duck

I hate this duck!

My dog gone off and found himself a girl
And they moved into the doghouse down the street
I can’t pay rent now but I wish him luck
Now I gotta live in my ten foot duck

My ten foot duck my baby gave to me
On the day of our second anniversary
It’s a duck made out of plastic
It’s a duck made out of wood
Oh I’d give it away if I could
My ten foot duck

I really hate this duck!

So feeling down I went to the casino
And that boat was floating there just like a pearl
Well it’s hard to gamble with just one buck
So now I’m home to my ten foot duck

My ten foot duck my baby gave to me
On the day of our second anniversary
It’s a duck made out of plastic
It’s a duck made out of wood
Oh, I’d give it away if I could

OH! There’s storms commin’ in and they don’t look
Good......

There’s a twister commin’ for me
I’m gonna run to my ducky
I’m gonna crawl inside
And wait this through

There’s a twister commin’ for me
Wait! Did I just say “ducky”?
I don’t care I’m gonna make it through

There’s a doghouse flying by
It’s my dog! I’m terrified
Oh please won’t you get me through this?

There goes my ex-girlfriend
She’s a flying to her end
And everybody else is missing

There goes the local bar
Hey now! Don’t go too far!
Oh no, there goes the casino

Here comes my old Ford truck
Barely missed me and my duck
It’s calm now
I see a rainbow,
I see a rainbow

And my ten foot duck saved my life that night
Now I see it under a different light
It’s a duck made out of plastic
It’s a duck made out of wood
Oh, we live alone in this neighborhood
Yeah, we’re living alone and the livin’s good
My ten foot duck

I LOVE my duck!

You heard me

My ten foot duck

Myrrh

© 2013 Justin Zelhart/Jiggy Music ASCAP

We’re gonna be apart soon
I’ll still see the stars
But I won’t see the moon

Your face is going to haunt me
Running through the mazes
Of my memory
Of my memory

And you’ll hold a place in my life
Encased in my wings,
Free from strife
Like a reflecting pool at my feet
Showing your face when two souls meet

I don’t think I’ll forget you
It’s only been a week
But it’ll be hard to

Because your eyes are so different
They’re like two blue stars
That are heaven sent
Heaven sent

And you’ll hold a place in my life
Encased in my wings,
Free from strife
Like a reflecting pool at my feet
Showing your face when two souls meet

I swear that I’ve met you before
Maybe through some trick left me wanting more
Like how time treats me now
Partnering with fate to make rules that won’t allow

And you’ll hold a place in my life
Encased in my wings,
Free from strife
Like a reflecting pool at my feet
Showing your face
Showing your face
Showing your face when two souls meet

Wait and See

© 2013 Justin Zelhart/Jiggy Music ASCAP

There’s always hope in the beginning
And we usually end up clinging
To the start of each day
Like it could change everything we said or say

Go on
I’m fine
I’ll plant a seed in your mind
Don’t stop
Walk on
I’ll still be easy to find
Go on
I’m fine
I’ll plant a seed in your mind
Your mind

And as your fantasy fades away
You hope and you wish that your dreams would stay
It wasn’t meant to be, but all you can see is possibility

Go on
I’m fine
I’ll plant a seed in your mind
Don’t stop
Walk on
I’ll still be easy to find
Go on
I’m fine
I’ll plant a seed in your mind
Your mind

Go on
I’m fine
I’ll plant a seed in your mind
Don’t stop
Walk on
I’ll still be easy to find
Go on
I’m fine
I’ll plant a seed in your mind

Go on
I’m fine
I’ll plant a seed in your mind
Don’t stop
Walk on
I’ll still be easy to find
Go on
I’m fine
I’ll plant a seed in your mind
You’re mine

Even the Best of Things

© 2013 Justin Zelhart/Jiggy Music ASCAP

Her pale blue eyes
Looked into mine
As I sat there cryin’

“You’ll find somebody else”
She told me
“You just gotta keep on tryin’ “

To deny this
I’d be lyin’
My life is nothing without you here
So I’m only dyin’

“And even the best of things come to an end”
She told me
“You have a future that you just can’t see.
But I, want something more than
You and me”

I try to sleep
But my bed is soaked
Soaked with all my tears

Because of all the love I wasted
And all the wasted years

I force myself to confront them
Confront my abundant tears
I wish my pain would scream out
So that you, and only you could hear

“And even the best of things come to an end”
She told me
“You have a future that you just can’t see.
But I want something more than
You and me
You and me
You and me”

Before the Fall

© 2013 Justin Zelhart/Jiggy Music ASCAP

Pantalaimon my friend
You’re off to Jordan again
Pantalaimon my friend
You’re off to Jordan again

You have no compass to guide your way
No map to lead you home
I know you’ll find yourself one day
And then you won’t be alone

Trust requires a cautious leap
But Love can lead you to fly
Don’t spend your whole life fast asleep
Sleeping ‘til you die

Pantalaimon my friend
You’re off to Jordan again
Pantalaimon my friend
You’re off to Jordan again

The whole world’s waiting for this new Eve
Through summer, winter, and Fall
But you knew that she had to leave
She couldn’t stay here at all

I know you feel you can’t take this pain
And you just wanna go back
The sun shines brightest after the rain
And light will peer through the black

Pantalaimon my friend
You’re off to Jordan again
Pantalaimon my friend
You’re off to Jordan again

Pantalaimon my friend
Pantalaimon my friend
Pantalaimon my friend
Pantalaimon my friend

Don’t close the windows to your soul
Don’t let them in to take control
Don’t rely on anyone else
Don’t keep your love to yourself

Tell her, tell her
Tell her, tell her

There’s no Knife that can cut your chains
Just story telling is what remains
No god to tell you what to do
You’re prophecy is coming true

Tell her, tell her
Tell her, tell her
You’re forgiven
You’re forgiven

Starry Night

© 2013 Justin Zelhart/Jiggy Music ASCAP

You’re lost in the maze of my mind
And I’m lost in your eyes
And if you feel so inclined
You can find me inside

I can’t find the words to say to you
And I can’t find the time
You’re the ghost that I just can’t pursue
And the hill I can’t climb

Do you believe in fate?
Like in the time you caught my eye
And to set the record straight
You didn’t even have to try

I don’t know where you’ve been
I don’t know who you are
But when I see your face
I can see a shining star

I don’t know where you’ve been
I don’t know who you are
But when I see your face
I can see a shining star
A shining star

If I wrote you a letter
Would you take time to reply?
I’ll wait ‘til you get better
Turn Winter into July

I still think that you’re beautiful
But there has to be more
To explain this strongest pull
That I can’t ignore

Do you believe in fate?
Like in the time you caught my eye
And to set the record straight
You didn’t even have to try

I don’t know where you’ve been
I don’t know who you are
But when I see your face
I can see a shining star

I don’t know where you’ve been
I don’t know who you are
But when I see your face
I can see a shining star
A star

You’re an enigma that I can’t solve
You’re a puzzle that I can’t start
But will your eyes lead me
To the bottom of my heart?

You’re an enigma that I can’t solve
You’re a puzzle that I can’t start
But will your eyes lead me
To the bottom of my heart?
Of my heart?

It’s a starry, starry night
It’s a starry, starry night
